The November edition of our monthly hangout at Meluora Hub was really exceptional and fun. It was an event I looked forward to witnessing and I was not disappointed at all and I can say the same for all the amazing people who attended the hangout. There was happiness, laughter, bants and gist flying around and all of these put together made it a very memorable hangout.

We kicked off the event with personal introductions, where everyone shared their names, what they do, hobbies, relationship status, and even their favorite football clubs. The atmosphere was saturated with jokes and bants about music, books and movies. A certain prince charles was also renamed princess charles because he publicly declared his love for taylor swift’s songs. It was just the perfect starter, filled with laughter and friendly banter. After the introductions, we moved straight up  into the gist session where individuals shared personal stories about events or moments that changed or made real impacts in their lives. It was an inspiring and emotional session filled with lessons, motivation, and a sense of shared humanity. Individuals also asked questions, threw in a few contributions and advice when necessary and shared similar experiences, turning the room into a space of connection and learning. After that we had a very interesting debate on the thought-stimulating topic: “Your stance on AI: Positive or Negative?” eight participants took the stage to argue for their stance on AI either positive or negative. This is what I’ll call the highlight of the day. While the negative team argued that AI is slowly taking away human’s ability to think critically, making users overly dependent and less creative, the positive side countered that AI itself isn’t the problem, that the problem lies in the application of AI. When applied wisely, AI can enhance human capacity rather than replace it. During the debates, we served snacks like egg rolls and meat pie with soft drinks and water for refreshment purposes which added to the relaxed, engaging atmosphere. At the end, the judges declared the negative team the winners but while the negative team rejoiced for this victory, the positive team were convinced that INEC had a hand in that final result.

Afterwards, everyone let loose with games. Some played Play Station, while others gathered around tables for whot, others ludo, scrabble, and sudoku. The energy was vibrant, and friendly competition filled everywhere.

We wrapped up the day with a cozy movie session, sharing snacks and conversations and thoughts about the movie as we watched together which I think is a perfect way to wind down after a fun, insightful day.The hangout reminded us what community really means: connection, learning, growth, collaboration and fun.Until the next one, Meluora remains your favorite hub for work, collaboration, and unforgettable experience. If you missed this one, don’t worry tell us in the comments what you’ll love to experience in our next hangout.
